When We Pave Our Own Paths, We’re Stronger Together

When We Pave Our Own Paths, We’re Stronger Together

Women are changing the business world by shifting the focus away from competing against each other and leaning into our naturally supportive nature instead.

In a recent interview with Denver Women Magazine, Meghann Conter, founder of The Dames, doesn’t shy away from the truth that women are built differently, and finding our own path in business starts there.

When we join in community, we women who have our backs no matter what, so we can speak our truth and find a way forward.

How to Avoid Burnout as a Woman Entrepreneur: Follow Your Joy

Meghann’s first six years in business came with the overworking, hustle culture mindset she believed she needed to make it. It was the type that pushes so far into masculine energy it becomes unhealthy.

In 2019, she closed her consulting business to go full-time with The Dames and stopped forcing herself into 70-hour weeks. She stopped treating her health and spirituality as secondary, and when she flipped those priorities, everything changed with it.

Within a year, she doubled her old consulting revenue and was ten times happier.

Take Yourself Off Autopilot

Meghann’s advice is to know yourself better than anyone else and build deep self-love from there.

So many of us move through life on autopilot, missing our body’s cues until we hit a breakdown. But you don’t need a breakdown to start paying attention.

For Meghann, that means balancing the healthy masculine and feminine energy within all of us, instead of chasing a business model built for men.

Every time she followed her joy, her intuition, and her body, she found herself somewhere better.

Women Entrepreneurs Need Other Women in Their Corner

“Women are built to grow through community, collaboration, and co-creation.” Yet the more we grow in business, the lonelier it gets, with fewer peers who understand what we’re carrying.

Having women in your corner changes that. They hold you up on the hard days and cheer the loudest on the good ones.

There’s so much more in the full interview, including Meghann’s advice for women in male-dominated industries. It’s the kind of read that leaves you trusting yourself a little more.
